What is Transit Log?
Foreign Flag Boats: The “Turkish Ports Yacht Registration Certificate”, which is known as transitlog in short, is a permit issued for entry / exit of Turkish territorial waters and ports on foreign flagged boats. The validity period of the transitlog to be received by the arriving boats is one year. Transitlog is required to be on board and it is mandatory to present it to the authorities.
Private Boats: If the boat has a Private Boat Certificate, you only need to get a transitlog on your boat in case of an overseas exit.
Otherwise, you do not need a transitlog document for cruising in Turkish waters and international waters.
Commercial boats: All commercial boats must receive transitlog. In addition, they are obliged to obtain a new transitlog document for the journeys to be made overseas or outside the port. If the boat belongs to a charter operation company, the certificate must be renewed for each contract change. Only passengers written on the transitlog must be onboard. This is also useful for the validity of the boat’s third party liability insurance.
